Data Security and Privacy (DSP 2024)

Scope

In the era of big data and big models, data serve as the core driving force for industrial and economic developments. Large amounts of data for individuals and organizations are collected, stored, and processed in the cyberspace, including sensitive personally identifiable information, financial records, trade secrets, and more. As a result, ensuring data security becomes an urgent task. This workshop, collocated with the 9th IEEE International Conference on Data Science in Cyberspace (IEEE DSC2024), encourages submission of innovative theories /innovations/models/algorithms/methods in data security and privacy, which can facilitate and/or provide insights on the practices, challenges, and solutions of data protection and problem-solving.


WORKSHOP AREAS

Topic interest include but not limited to:

1.Cryptographic Protocols and Techniques. Exploring the latest advancements in cryptographic methods to secure data transmission, storage, and processing.
2. Privacy-Preserving Technologies. Investigating innovative technologies and strategies to protect individuals' privacy while still enabling valuable data analysis.
3. Secure Data Storage and Retrieval. Addressing secure storage solutions and retrieval mechanisms, considering both centralized and decentralized approaches.
4. Regulatory Compliance and Legal Aspects. Examining the current legal landscape and compliance requirements related to data security and privacy, with a focus on global regulations.
5. Data Breach Detection and Incident Response. Analyzing methods and tools for detecting and responding to data breaches promptly and effectively.
6. Federated Learning and AI for Data Security. Evaluating the role of artificial intelligence and federated learning in enhancing data security measures and identifying potential risks.
7. Blockchain-based data management. Exploring the application of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in ensuring the integrity and security of data.
8. Cross-Industry Collaboration. Encouraging discussions on collaborative efforts between academia, industry, and government agencies to establish robust data security frameworks.


PAPER SUBMISSION

All submissions should be written in English and submitted via our submission system. A paper submitted to DSP2024 cannot be under review for any other conference or journal during the entire period that it is considered for DSP2024, and must be substantially different from any previously published work. Submissions are reviewed in a single-blind manner. Please note that all submissions must strictly adhere to the IEEE templates as provided below. The templates also act as a guideline regarding formatting. In particular, all submissions must use either the LATEX template or the MS-Word template. Please follow exactly the instructions below to ensure that your submission can ultimately be included in the proceedings.
